Out brilliant sightings in the Kruger Park continues to amaze our guests!
On the 7th they saw male cheetah chasing zebra and then killing a baby impala, a pack of wild dogs, a clan of 11 hyena, 8 lionesses chasing impala and playing with each other( lots of love flowing through that pride), lots of impala with all the new babies, tons of zebra, giraffe, a pair of paradise flycatchers, black crakes with some youngsters, and a pair of cape vultures on their nest.

With summer in full swing, there are loads of baby animals everywhere! It is stunning to see all the creches all over the park!
Sadly they also make a quick meal for some of the predators and Willem’s guests were treated to a cheetah catching a baby impala. We sometimes forget that in order to see the predators, someone else has to become lunch!
Willem’s guests had a very interesting sighting of 2 young male baboons wrecking a weaver’s nest. They watched this for quite a while. The baboons would rip the nests apart and be elated whenever they found an egg or chick to eat, but seemed to be throwing a temper tantrum with every nest that came up empty, destroying the nest completely!

The Lion drought of the past week has been broken! This morning, as everyone was leaving Skukuza in search of great sightings, 3 huge males were right on the crossing just outside the camp! Even the guests on their way to do a Bush walk with SAN Parks got to see them!

Yesterday was also a good one with another leopard and no less than 10 white rhino spotted in different areas along the Biyamiti! The rest of the day brought elephant, buffalo, loads of giraffe, zebra, impala (several of the herds have started dropping their babies, so there are many tiny little impalas running around!), kudu, wildebeest and many birds.

With the rain still staying away, the sightings have been brilliant!
Willem’s guests have been entertained by excellent sightings of hyenas. They found two hyenas on the road and followed them for a while. They were led to a new den that Willem has not seen before. There were at least 12 hyenas & the greeting with the new two was amazing. This was followed by lots of giggling, marking of the grass & yapping and loads of interaction! Two of them peeled off to take a bath across the road in some water caught on a rock plate. The group eventually had to leave because of the smell!

Written by Robert Wienand, our specialist bird guide
On the 9th November myself and 4 guests headed East to the Kruger Park on a birding safari.
En-route we stopped at the Abel Erasmus tunnel where 3 Taita Falcons were watched swooping through the air, while a few Cape Vultures drifted through the sky.
Once into the park birds were being added to the ever growing list at a fast pace. African Paradise Flycatcher was sitting on a nest, and Levaillant’s Cuckoo and Orange-breasted Bush Shrike called in spite of the increasing heat.
