Kruger Park safaris and guided tours

Guided Safaris are an excellent way to visit Africa’s National Parks, if you are interested in more information than standard guide books can offer, and want to take the stress of organizing everything yourself, out of the equation, then guided safaris are for you!

Typically guided safaris are arranged by registered tour operators, and therefore everything from pre and post safari accommodation, to transport to entry fees is arranged for you. All you literally need to do is rock up on the day you have decided to depart and everything else is arranged for you.

Reputable companies will also employ good guides which means that your experience of the bush is tremendously enhanced by the guides knowledge of animals, birds, trees and because they are frequent visitors to the Kruger Park, they know the area very well.
This knowledge of the area is vital in enhancing your experience of Africa, as most animals are territorial, it means that the guide often sees the same animals in the same areas, and is therefore aware of what to look for when driving through different regions of the Kruger.
This does not mean excellent sightings of wildlife are guaranteed but your chances of seeing animals like lion, rhino and leopard are greatly enhanced.

Another good reason to go with a safari guide to the Kruger National Park becomes apparent when encountering large and potentially dangerous game like buffalo and elephant. How you handle yourself in a situation when these animals suddenly emerge from the side of the road, can place a lot of stress on yourself and other vehicles in the immediate vicinity. Safari guides have been in these situations many times and know what to look for in the animals behaviour pattern, which will indicate that an immediate exit from the situation is necessary, or that the animals is relaxed and you can sit back and enjoy the close encounter.
