Sightings: 17 April 2011

Sunday, April 17th, 2011

Hi there!

Kylie & her guests had a brilliant drive this morning, even though the weather is miserable and it was raining! Saw mating lions, another pride of lion on a buffalo kill, 3 ellie bulls, huge herd of buffalo, 2 rhino, a croc and then lots of plains game! They say it was definately worth getting wet for!

I know I just posted yesterday’s sightings, but this morning’s drive was to good to wait for the next post!

They saw 2 leopard (they followed the one for half an hour!), 7 white rhino, lots of elephant, an African harrier hawk and a juvenile Martial eagle!

There is always something exciting on offer on every drive! Yesterday’s sightings were particularly great with a Martial eagle hunting & catching a water monitor. Guests got to see that kill! They also saw white rhino, elephant and followed two lionesses for about 2km along the road!

With guides with a passion for what they do, they always find something that guests never expected!

Jack & Jimer de Vries says:

Recently my husband and I stayed in Skukuza for 11 days and most of that time we were with your group.  I promised I would send some of the photos from our trip to the guides as well as Jonathan, all of whom made the trip worth the 18,000 KM flight (each way!).  It took us 34 hours of travel time to get back to California, when we left Capetown.

Kilie, Robin and Hielke (not sure about the spelling on any of those) were wonderful, entertaining and informative, Jonathan’s food was SUPER, and regardless of some difficult times with some of the customers, they maintained a professional attitude throughout.

Dear Robert

Tina and I just wanted to write to say how much we enjoyed our recent Safari!

The arrangements were impeccable and all your staff excellent. We really appreciated the early access to our room on arrival after an overnight flight.

Francois arranged some (light) sightseeing – we went to the Apartheid Museum which was excellent.

The Safari experience was superb – the camp was nice with comfortable air conditioned rondavels

We enjoyed Jonathan’s cooking – indeed a relief as when we tried lunches at the camp site the food was dreadful!!! The game drives too were excellent as was the scenic return trip.
